I have personally seen a 6' 100# plus cat taken from the Cjumberland River below Cunberland Falls in Southeastern Ky. As a child, I grew up with tales of much larger cats in the hole below the Falls, including tales of young children playing in shallow water being snatched by theshuge monsters. Personally, I believe these tales to have a basis in truth.

Stephen Chetwynd comments on UFOs Will Crash, Part III

I saw this some time ago. My own experiences with Placitas are from a later time that being early 77 when I met and lived with a hippie chick I met at OKIE JOES in Albuq while attending UNM on the GI Bill after a stint in the Navy.Little Jackie was older and wiser and introduced me to an interesting bunch of characters, hippies, bikers, artist, saints and sinners. She took me to Dome Valley several times but I mostly remember hanging with some of her good friends who lived in the village. There was Phil who lived in the big dome close to the road in the center of town. What a smart and interesting guy, There was Pincus and sloopy Danny who lived in the old gas station making these amazing hand painted leather wheels. Her other artisan friend who's name escapes me, made these beautiful Picasso-esqe paintings, although he was somewhat of a loose cannon. There was Roach Ranch Jim and Rick (Ritablo) Pfeiffer one of the finest wood carvers and best friends I have ever known. Little Jackie lived for several years in Madrid and Cerrillos long after we parted ways and passed on a few years back as did Rick. I miss them both So yes Placitas has a good place in my heart.

nbvnbv comments on UFOs Will Crash, Part III

its a real fake

Lee Wacker comments on The New Mexico Mystery Stone

This story about the mystery stone is part of the hidden history of this country. It could be ancient, or it could be fairly new. Who knows? There have been Roman artifacts found in Tucson, Southern Texas and Hopkinsville, Kentucky, although most of the locals don't want to admit it in any of the three areas. I have also read of a transcontinental road built by the Romans along the route of either I-70 or I-90, I'm not sure which. The tale I heard about the artifacts from Texas claimed the items were buried because the people involved had to get to the road by a certain time of year, or by a certain date. I don't remember. There have also been Phoenician artifacts found in Southern Arizona as well. And, I have heard a story of a Chinese explorer who stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon, and wondered how to get a drink from the river. This man also made contact with possibly the Mayans or another tribe in that particular region. One tale I enjoyed was told to me by some Mormon missionaries. It seems that some of the followers of Moroni landed in South America, and saw a magnificent city that was not inhabited. The locals, called Lamanites by the missionaries, told the newcomers that the city had been built by giant white men, who had sailed away a long time before. There are also Viking ships seen in the sides of canyons in both the United States and northern Mexico.

Who knows, all of these tales might be true. One day, we will know.
