From the Rio Grande Sun’s police blotter—the May 29, 2008 installment of which, frankly, is so hilarious and weird from start to finish that it may be the source of more than one Daily Strange, comes this strange piece of evidence that the Back-Nine Bandits, may still be on the loose.

Española Police officers, Rio Arriba County Sheriff's deputies, [or] Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Police responded to the following call...

Tuesday, May 13
• 9:23 a.m. — A Northern New Mexico College employee said the groundskeeper left a golf cart alone for a little bit and when he went back for it it was gone. Officers were advised.

Did Las Cruces police arrest the wrong man?

Thanks for the heads up Mike. There have been a marked number of thefts in my area as well.
Not surprised. Those NEVs - neighborhood electric vehicles - are getting to be a real hot ticket item here in Post Petrol America. Better start keeping them booby trapped or locked up better than people are used to doing.
